Official Uninstall Pc Programs

Free Download: Uninstall Pc Programs

Uninstalling programs from your PC is a very simple process, as long as you do it correctly. The reasons for uninstalling PC programs can vary. Maybe you don't use the program anymore and would like to free up space on your hard drive. Maybe you suspect the program has been compromised and is allowing spyware onto your system. Or perhaps you are upgrading to a different program, thus replacing the existing program with a new and different one.

What not to do:

Do not just go into your program files and delete any files you find with the program's name in the title. While this may save some space, it will not completely uninstall the program, nor will it uninstall it correctly. To fully remove a program and all of its backup data and supporting files, you must do so correctly.

What to do:

Programs come with uninstall software, which pulls all of a program's files from the computer and disposes of them thoroughly. To uninstall programs correctly, follow the easy steps below. These are steps specifically for Windows XP, but most versions of Windows work quite similarly to this.

1.      First identify the program you would like to uninstall.

2.      Click the "Start" button, and select "Control Panel" from the menu that appears. (In classic view, you will choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.)

3.      When you are in the Control Panel, choose "Add or Remove Programs" by double clicking on it. This will open a list of all the programs on your computer.

4.      Select the program you are trying to uninstall by clicking "Change/Remove" on the right side.

5.      A simple dialogue will open to confirm that you want to remove or change the program you selected. Follow the instructions.

6.      When the program disappears from the list, that means that the program and all of its support files have been completely uninstalled and removed from your system.
